State-of-the-Art Wireless Control for Keyhole Coring

At Aarcomm, we are dedicated to providing innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and reliability of specialized equipment operations. A prime example of this commitment can be seen in our collaboration with Utilicor Technologies, a leading manufacturer of Keyhole Coring equipment. Andrew Poock, President and CEO of Utilicor, recently shared his insights on how Aarcomm’s remote controls have transformed their operations.

A Partnership Forged at Con Expo

"Our relationship with Aarcomm began a few years ago at the Con Expo Show in Las Vegas," says Andrew Poock. "We were already impressed by the performance of Aarcomm’s systems on Rival trucks and were seeking a similar remote control solution for our track units. The compactness and flexible programming of Aarcomm’s products immediately caught our attention."

Why Aarcomm Stands Out

While Aarcomm’s handheld remote controls offer a range of programmable functions making for a powerful range of control features, it is the intuitive and easy interface that really stand out for Utilicor operators. "The ease of operation is a significant factor—our operators can familiarize themselves with the handheld unit in just about 2 or 3 minutes," Andrew explains. This ease of use is critical in high-stakes construction environments where every second counts.

Innovative Features Enhancing Operations

One standout feature of the Aarcomm remote is its motion control functionality. "With simple movements—tilting the unit down to move forward or to the sides to steer—you can maneuver the equipment effortlessly without constantly pressing buttons," says Andrew. This intuitive control mechanism is particularly beneficial in the precise and delicate operations involved in Keyhole Coring, where precision is paramount.

Durability in Demanding Environments

Durability is another critical aspect, especially given the rugged conditions under which Keyhole Coring equipment operates. Andrew recounts instances where Aarcomm units have proven their robustness: "I've seen units get pretty beat up—falling off trucks, tumbling down roads—and they still work perfectly as if brand new." This reliability ensures that operations can continue without interruption, a crucial factor for field dependability.

Technological Advancements and Future Plans

Utilicor appreciates the advanced technological integration that Aarcomm remotes offer, such as USB charging and programmable features that allow for gradual ramp-up and precise control adjustments. "The previous systems we used were bulkier and less sophisticated. Aarcomm’s technology not only provides a neater installation but also brings enhanced control and flexibility," Andrew notes.

Looking ahead, Utilicor plans to expand the use of Aarcomm’s remote controls: "We’re looking to incorporate Aarcomm units into our larger truck-mounted units as well, continuing to leverage their reliability and advanced features."

By equipping industry leaders like Utilicor with cutting-edge remote control systems, we help them streamline operations and enhance safety for their operators. At Aarcomm, we are excited about continuing the innovative work we are doing with partners like Utilicor.
